The Big Adventure

Live It!

The Big Adventure is the children’s ministry of Hope Church where kids come to learn about God’s love and His promises. Our goal is to provide transformational teaching to reach children…the kind of teaching that leaves kids living differently on Monday as a result of being with us on Sunday.

The Big Adventure includes Adventure Woods for our preschoolers and The Zone for our Elementary aged children.

Adventure Woods

The Hope Nursery


The nursery is intended for children who are pre-walkers. It is a place where children are cared for, played with, held and nurtured. We are aware that your children may have nap patterns or a feeding schedule that you would like us to know about. Please share this information with us. We will ask you to bring a bag for your child (clearly marked with his or her name) that contains any necessary items such as bottles, diapers, baby wipes, special toys or blankets etc.

Waddlers


The “Waddlers” class is intended for children that are competent walkers through 2 years. In this class children are loved and cared for and introductory teaching is taking place. This includes reading Bible stories, singing songs, doing crafts, and playing games. Please let us know of any particular needs your child may have, and please provide a bag marked with the child’s name that contains necessary items such as diapers, baby wipes, special toys, blankets, etc.

Preschoolers

2-5 year olds in Adventure Woods participate in an age appropriate large group/small group format. Children will experience God’s love through music, movement, storytelling and puppet theater. It is our hope that children will be introduced to God’s love and truth in an engaging and irresistible way.

Each child will be a part of a small group led by a Shepherd. In this time we begin to help children with the next steps in learning about God and his love for us through Jesus Christ. Through adult interaction with your child, the love of Jesus Christ is modeled as we try to help your child understand basic Biblical ideas such as God’s love, His work in creation, and His desire to have a loving relationship with every person through Jesus Christ.

Children are being loved and engaged so they might know of God’s heart for them personally, and for the whole world.

The Zone

Children from kindergarten to 5th grade are invited to be in The Zone. We have a large group/small group fomat for our children, which includes stories, music, games and discussion so children can experience the love of Jesus Christ and have an opportunity to grow in his/her relationship with Him. It is our hope that through creative and child-centered teaching each child will come to know Jesus and be transformed as they live out their faith.

Large group time includes worship and storytelling in a fun and energetic atmosphere. A variety of creative teaching techniques are used during this time to engage children and teach biblical truth. Application to a child’s life is central to this teaching time.

Each child will have the opportunity to be a part of a small group lead by an Adventure Leader. This small group time is the basis for developing a mentoring relationship between leader and child as well as a time to develop peer relationships. Lesson discussion and application will occur during this time as well.
